Seth Harwood grew up in Boston's South End, Cambridge, and Newton. Since graduating from the Iowa Writers' Workshop, he has taught English and writing at The Cambridge School of Weston and UMass Boston. He currently lives in Berkeley, CA where he's working on his second noir/crime novel is a series following Jack Palms, a one-time Hollywood actor who finds himself thrown into San Francisco's underworld. In December, he finished podcasting the series' first novel, Jack Wakes Up.
His collection of stories, A Long Way from Disney, fictionalizes some of his experiences growing up in and around Boston. These stories appear on his website, sethharwood.com, and he will be podcasting them in free weekly audio installments throughout the spring. Twelve of these stories have been published in journals and reviews, including Sojourn, Post Road, Ecotone, The Charles River Review, and Inkwell. A Long Way from Disney will be published in the summer of 2007 by Storyglossia Press.
